DONATION FORM

What art work is acceptable?

Please note that the artwork will be sold at attic sale prices so smaller pieces, editioned prints, and unframed work may be most appropriate although this certainly is up to you, the donor.

  • This year we will accept only 2-D work (art made on a flat surface such as paintings, drawings, photographic prints, collages, fine art textiles, etchings, etc.) We cannot accept 3-D work (such as sculpture) or time-based (such as film).
  • Art work need not be framed. However, all works on paper must be matted or mounted on a firm surface and plastic wrapped for their protection. Framed work should have a wire attached from one side of the frame to the other for hanging.
  • Original prints such as lithograph, silkscreen, etching, drypoint and monoprint appreciated. Giclee prints of original artwork are acceptable. Posters of fine art in mint condition are also appreciated. All other posters or reproductions are not acceptable.
  • Maximum size of any piece is 45” x 45” including frame if there is one.
  • Artwork must be family-friendly.
  • Artwork must not infringe on third party rights.
  • The Friends of the Hopkins Center for the Arts reserve the right to reject any piece that does not meet the criteria for
inclusion or is in poor condition.

What else do I need to know as a donor?

  • Please only donate items that you own.
  • Once donated, the artwork becomes the property of the Friends of Hopkins Center for the Arts.
  • The Friends of the Hopkins Center for the Arts reserve the right to set prices on artwork as they see fit.  Our aim is to provide artwork at affordable prices by “recycling” art that is gathering dust and not being enjoyed. While it is not our intent to
undervalue artwork – we fully recognize the investment artists and collectors make in their art – it is the nature of this project that prices will be low. Please use your best judgement in deciding what to donate.
  • Donors do not receive a percentage of the sales.
  • The Friends of Hopkins Center for the Arts reserves the right to photograph artwork submitted for marketing purposes only.
  • Artwork not purchased by the end of the day will be donated by the Friends of Hopkins Center for the Arts to another charity or sold through other means.
