What's All True
What Makes Hopkins Unique
Hopkins merges old and new, bringing the classic charm of your hometown with modern amenities. Rich in history, eclectic local businesses, diversity and accessibility, Hopkins is a community like none other!
It's Easy to Get Around
Hopkins is ranked third in Minnesota for walkability and FIRST in Minnesota for bikeability, according to Walk Score. The site of trailheads for four Three Rivers Park regional trails, the Minnesota River Bluffs LRT Regional Trail, the Cedar Lake LRT Regional Trail, the North Cedar Lake Regional Trail and the Lake Minnetonka LRT Regional Trail, getting around Hopkins without a car is extremely easy.
Once in operation, Hopkins will have three stations along the METRO Green Line Extension, Metropolitan Council's 14.5-mile light rail line serving Minneapolis, St. Louis Park, Hopkins, Minnetonka and Eden Prairie, and connect to the existing Green and Blue lines at the Target Field Station in Downtown Minneapolis.
It's Nationally Recognized
Hopkins is home to one of the last great Mainstreets in Minnesota to explore one-of-a-kind local shops, terrific restaurants and exciting events. In 2022, Mainstreet between 8th and 11th Avenues (also known as the Hopkins Commercial Historic District) was added to the National Register of Historic Places.
The Artery, a bike, pedestrian and vehicle connection and community space on 8th Avenue S, connects Mainstreet to the METRO Green Line's Downtown Station, and was named one of the Great Places in America in 2019 by the American Planning Association.
It's Welcoming
Hopkins has a strong sense of community, embraces its authentic – sometimes gritty – self, and is welcoming to all. Diversity is celebrated here. Approximately 40 percent of Hopkins residents are persons of color and 25 percent speaking a language other than English at home. The faces of Hopkins reflect this, with longtime residents living alongside those that are new to the city and the nation.
We are so excited that you are here and for you to find what Hopkins means to you. In Hopkins, not matter what you've heard, It's All True.
