Town Center began in 1956 when Hovander’s, a town institution for meat and groceries, was located off Mainstreet. The era of mom and pop stores had ended and the supermarket era had begun. Today, Town Center has expanded to include banks, drug, hardware, and liquor stores, the public library, and a supermarket.
