A very active activity center
Since 1981, the Hopkins Activity Center (located on 14th Ave N adjacent to the Raspberry Ridge apartments) has been a gathering place for older adults to participate in organized as well as unorganized recreational, social, educational, nutritional, fitness, and volunteer activities.
Lots to do for a dollar a day
There is always something fun going on at the Activity Center, from polka dancing to knitting circles, computer lab time to special events. The cost for joining in Activity Center activities is $1 a day or a yearly pass for $24/person or $40/couple, and scholarships are available. The Activity Center also offers a popular dining program on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
A place to make your own fun
The Activity Center offers a gym, kitchen, and meeting rooms that can be rented by residents for active or passive, large or small activities. Individuals, groups, and businesses may use the facility for a variety of activities...meetings, classes, business functions, support groups, social gatherings, basketball, flea markets, auctions, sales, birthday and anniversary parties, and wedding receptions.
The Hopkins Activity Center is a wonderful example of the sense of community enjoyed in Hopkins. The variety of activities reflects the wants and needs of our golden population and provides a place to interact with friends and family. For these reasons, the Hopkins Activity Center is January’s Point of Pride!
