Dementia Friends: Getting Through the Holidays
Monday, November 20, 4:30 pm–6:00 pm
The holidays can be stressful for families coping with Alzheimer’s disease or other forms of dementia. Some people struggle while they search for meaningful ways to honor traditions with a loved one whose memory of them may be fading. There may be family members from out of town who notice signs of physical or mental decline for the first time. Preparing those family members is important for the well being of the person with Alzheimers and the guest equally.
This presentation will offer:
Tips for caregivers to take care of themselves.
How to prepare guests.
Hints for happier holidays.
This workshop is being offered for free thanks to an ACT on Alzheimer’s Grant.
