The City of Hopkins is excited to announce the launch of its new and improved Think Hopkins smartphone app. This new community app is available as a free download for both Android and Apple phones in their respective app stores.
Four Reasons To Use The New App:
1. Know What’s Happening in Hopkins
The cornerstone of the Think Hopkins App is its event calendar. There are tons of activities going on every day in Hopkins, and with the new app, all of this information will be available right on your smart phone.
The community app will be the go-to place for everything that is going on in the Hopkins community—including Hopkins schools, sports groups, non-profit organizations, businesses, and City events.
2. Support Your Community
The app is more than just a website or an event calendar. Interactive features will provide you the opportunity to take a poll on places you have just visited, and then post your satisfaction on your Facebook page. If you attend a phenomenal Music in the Park concert in Downtown Park, for example, you will be able to tell your Facebook friends about it in a matter of seconds. Through social media, Hopkins residents can become the community’s biggest supporters.
3. Communicate with the City
The Think Hopkins app will also simplify communication with the Citythrough the new issue reporting tool. With a few taps of your finger you can report issues such as potholes, road debris, malfunctioning traffic lights and more. The issues that are reported will be immediately sent to the proper City staff to be scheduled for resolution. Think Hopkins app users will also have easy access to direct contact information for all City staff and elected officials.
4. Shop Local and Save With App-Only Promotions
The interactive poll feature can work with places of business as well, giving you the option to provide instant feedback on services received or products purchased. To work, businesses pay a monthly subscription fee and a beacon is mounted near the door of the business. Then if you have location services enabled for the app and are nearby, the beacon cansend a message to your phone to invite you into the store or business. The invitation is typically in the form of a coupon or special promotion happening in the store at that specific time.
When you leave a store, the store’s beacon can also send you a one question survey to rate your experience and share it with the store’s owner. Once completed, you can share your experience on Facebook with just a single tap, if you desire.
Using the new and improved Think Hopkins app, you will have quick access to businesses, City government, and all community events. This app will make it even easier to “Think Hopkins.”
